During the April holidays, Mme Catherine Crampton (Head of French), along with six Grade 10 St Anne’s French Students, visited a new exchange partner in France. They were warmly welcomed by the school, Le College du Pays Blanc, and were taken on numerous outings to see the neighbouring villages, towns and to Nantes. The school also organised a South African evening which was most entertaining and informative. The girls participated in numerous workshops, sang the National anthem as well as other famous South African songs and were treated to a South African meal of bobotie and Malva pudding which the French chefs had spent a lot of time perfecting. The experience was culturally, socially and linguistically enriching for the girls and they hope to continue with the programme next year.
This week we welcome Marie Jaca, a pupil from Le College du Pays Blanc, for two weeks. She will be shadowing two of our girls and staying with their families. She will also be participating in the College’s co-curricular programme and we hope that it will be an enriching experience both for Marie and our girls.
